What is the LearnPad?

The LearnPad provides a new and exciting way for children to interact, collaborate and learn through using a tablet computer.

The LearnPad has been specifically designed for the education environment and provides schools with a safe and simple means of accessing a huge range of eLearning content.  The eLearning content, including applications, websites, Flash based activities and well as online videos and other curriculum content is easily available to each student.

The LearnPad tablet provides a safe and centrally managed means for students to access network resources and be limited to approved websites to help keep them focussed on the project at hand.

LearnPad – Pre-installed Content Suite

The LearnPad has a range of pre-installed content that has been designed to meet specific areas of teaching curriculum across primary, secondary and special educational needs.  The LearnPad also provides access to the widest range of eLearning content available including office documents, audio and video files, VLE content and Flash based activities and websites.  Access content from a host of leading publishers including Educationcity.com, Sherston, Birchfield, Yellow Door, eChalk and others.

Online Curriculum Content Store

As well as the pre-installed applications, the LearnPad also has dedicated curriculum aligned content store with hundreds of additional activities covering all subject areas.  You can use the content store to search by subject, topic, even keystage or age, to find the specific applications you need for your lesson.  Once you’ve downloaded the content, it can be easily rolled out across multiple LearnPads using the central management portal.

Central Device Management & Configuration

The LearnPad has a unique web based management portal that enables easy control of multiple LearnPads centrally.  Schools can use the portal to create different LearnPad profile groups that define which settings, configuration and content is displayed to the users. The central device management portal has been specifically designed for use in a school environment so that delivery of new applications, across a fleet of LearnPads, is easy for network managers with varying levels of ICT experience.
